Introducing the far out collaboration of producers/composers João Milet Meirelles and Thomas Simon Vortex:

Sonar Atmosfera!

Dark ambient electronics. Tribal beats.

Tuned down catchy guitar riffs drifting into space. Sparse, yet powerful vocals.

Both artists/composers score movies - Simon just finished a soundtrack for the feature film “Exit 0”, starring Peter Greene (“Pulp Fiction”) - and both work in theater, besides touring with bands - Meirelles performs with Infusão and Baiana System.

Simon, who is based in New York City, has been traveling back and forth to Brazil, having been drawn to the vast multitude of rhythms and experimental music scene. There was a meeting of the minds at the right time and they are now collaborating as a quasi experimental supergroup.

Recorded and mixed at Estúdio Casa das Máquinas in Salvador, Brazil (with additional tweaking in NYC), the album highlights Meirelles' and Simon's original ways of producing music out of their designated sound devices.
Each track morphs from experimental soundscapes into a tight beat and rock riff, hypnotizing the listener until the tune takes a turn and dissolves back into the experimental abyss.

With Sonar Atmosfera João Milet Meirelles and Thomas Simon Vortex push to create their own genre.
